Two Year Wild Bird Mix – Plus Sunflowers – AB9 / AHL2 / CAHL2

Two-year spring-sown wild bird mix with sunflowers for AB9, AHL2 and CAHL2, containing six cereal, brassica and seed-bearing crops.

The Two Year Wild Bird Mix – Plus Sunflowers is a spring-sown wild bird seed mixture designed to establish in blocks and strips and remain in place for two years. The mixture combines Spring Triticale, Sunflower, Quinoa, Oil Radish, Kale x Rape and Red/White Millet to provide a diverse selection of cereal, brassica and other seed-bearing crops.

The mixture is intended to grow and flower during spring and summer, providing food resources for smaller farmland birds including grey partridge and tree sparrows, while also supporting pollinators and an integrated pest management approach. The inclusion of sunflower, quinoa and millet provides additional diversity within the mixture alongside the cereal and brassica components.

The mixture is specified for CSS AB9, AHL2 and CAHL2 applications. Sow in spring at 20kg/acre, using drilling to establish the mixture in blocks or strips. The stated flowering period is June to September, with plants reaching approximately 50–200cm, depending on species and growing conditions.
