Wildflowers for Moths Plug Plants Mix

Wildflower plug plants designed to support moths and nocturnal pollinators. Ideal for meadows, woodland edges, and biodiversity projects.

The Wildflowers for Moths Plug Plants Mix is specifically designed to support moths and other nocturnal pollinators, which play a vital but often overlooked role in ecosystem health. This mix includes a carefully selected range of UK native wildflowers that provide nectar, larval food sources, and shelter, supporting moth populations throughout their lifecycle.

Supplied as 40cc plug plants, the mix establishes quickly and delivers long-term ecological value. Ideal for ecologists, councils, landowners, farmers, and landscape professionals, it is well suited to meadows, woodland edges, field margins, gardens, and biodiversity enhancement or BNG projects.

  • Site Preparation: Remove competing vegetation and lightly cultivate the soil to allow strong root establishment.
  • Planting Time: Plant in spring or early autumn when soil moisture is reliable.
  • Planting Density: Space plugs 20–30cm apart to create diverse, structurally rich habitat.
  • Watering: Water well after planting; additional watering may be required during prolonged dry periods during the first growing season.
  • Maintenance: Cut back after flowering and remove arisings. Leave some standing seed heads or overwintering vegetation to provide shelter where possible. Avoid fertilisers.
