White Campion Wildflower – JC1289

Elegant white perennial wildflower for pollinator-friendly meadows, field margins, BNG schemes, and ornamental borders.

White Campion (Silene latifolia) Wildflower (JC1289) is a delicate perennial wildflower featuring elegant white blooms with a subtle fragrance. Highly attractive to pollinators such as bees, butterflies, and hoverflies, White Campion enhances biodiversity while adding ornamental interest to meadows, field margins, and wildlife-friendly gardens.

This hardy species is ideal for wildflower meadows, BNG schemes, roadside verges, parks, and ornamental borders. Once established, White Campion produces reliable flowering from late spring to early autumn, providing long-term ecological and visual benefits.

  • Seedbed Preparation: Prepare a fine, firm seedbed free from weeds and competing vegetation. Ensure good seed-to-soil contact for optimal germination.
  • Sowing Time: Best sown in spring or early autumn when soil moisture is consistent.
  • Sowing Rate: Broadcast evenly across the prepared area and lightly firm. Avoid burying seeds too deeply.
  • Establishment: Perennial species establish gradually, with flowering beginning in the first season and increasing in subsequent years.
  • Management: Cut once or twice annually depending on site requirements. Remove arisings to maintain low fertility and encourage flowering.
  • Long-Term Care: Avoid fertilisers and minimise disturbance to maintain species diversity and long-term flowering.
