Wet & Moist Soils Wildflower Plug Plants Mix

A specialist wildflower plug plant mix for wet and moisture-retentive soils. Ideal for SuDS, wet meadows, BNG schemes, and ecological landscaping projects.

The Wet & Moist Soils Wildflower Plug Plants Mix has been specifically developed for damp, poorly drained, and seasonally wet soils, where conventional wildflower seed mixes can struggle to establish. This mix is ideal for wet meadows, SuDS schemes, riverbanks, pondsides, parks, roadside verges, and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) projects.

Supplied as established plug plants, this mix provides reliable establishment, rapid rooting, and improved survival in moisture-retentive conditions. Carefully selected species deliver long-lasting flowering while supporting a wide range of pollinators, including bees, butterflies, hoverflies, and other beneficial insects.

Suitable for both urban and rural landscapes, this mix offers a low-maintenance and sustainable solution for enhancing biodiversity in wetter environments.

  • Site Preparation: Remove existing vegetation and prepare a weed-free planting area. Avoid excessive cultivation that may disturb wet ground.
  • Planting Time: Best planted in spring or autumn when soil moisture is naturally high.
  • Planting Density: Space plug plants approximately 20–30cm apart to allow for mature growth and coverage.
  • Watering: Water after planting if conditions are dry. Once established, plants tolerate consistently moist soils well.
  • Establishment: Plug plants establish quickly, forming strong root systems adapted to damp conditions.
  • Management: Cut back in late autumn or early spring. Remove arisings to maintain low fertility and encourage continued flowering.
