Summer Snowflake In The Green Bulbs – JB2011

Premium “in the green” Summer Snowflake bulbs for naturalising schemes, BNG projects and estate landscapes. Reliable establishment, pollinator-friendly and fully hardy.

Summer Snowflake “In the Green” bulbs provide a reliable and refined perennial choice for naturalistic planting schemes and habitat enhancement projects. Supplied with active green shoots, these bulbs establish quickly and deliver elegant early-season structure, making them an excellent option for woodland margins, meadow settings and moisture-retentive landscapes.

Supplied with established green shoots, these pre-rooted bulbs ensure stronger establishment rates and faster visual impact compared to dormant dry bulbs. Leucojum aestivum, commonly known as Loddon Lily, produces elegant white, bell-shaped flowers tipped with distinctive green markings, delivering refined seasonal interest from late spring into early summer.

Particularly suited to woodland margins, wet meadow creation, estate planting schemes and biodiversity-focused landscapes, Summer Snowflake is a robust, fully hardy perennial that naturalises effectively in appropriate conditions. Once established, it multiplies steadily, forming long-term drifts that enhance ecological value while maintaining a high-end, natural aesthetic.

An ideal species for Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) projects, stewardship schemes, private estates and public realm enhancement where resilience, pollinator support and understated elegance are essential.

  • Plant immediately upon delivery to prevent root desiccation.
  • Position bulbs at a depth of 5–7 cm, spacing 10–15 cm apart to allow natural colony development.
  • Irrigate thoroughly after planting and maintain moisture during the establishment phase.
  • Once settled, plants are tolerant of short dry periods but perform best where soil retains consistent moisture.
  • Allow foliage to die back naturally after flowering to ensure energy returns to the bulb for the following season. Minimal ongoing intervention is required once established.
