SuDs Mix 100% Wildflowers – JC3555

A native wildflower mix for SuDS schemes. Ideal for swales, attenuation basins, rain gardens, and seasonal wet-to-dry sites.

SuDS Mix 100% Wildflowers (JC3555) is a specialist native wildflower seed mixture designed for Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS). Whether used in swales, attenuation basins, rain gardens, or other water-sensitive areas, this mix establishes a diverse, resilient meadow that tolerates seasonal waterlogging in winter and dry conditions in summer.

The mixture combines perennials and biennials adapted to fluctuating soil moisture, providing structural diversity, seasonal colour, and ecological function. Once established, JC3555 supports pollinators, invertebrates, wetland birds, and biodiversity objectives, while maintaining low-maintenance performance under variable moisture regimes.

This mix is perfect for developers, landscape designers, BNG schemes, flood management projects, and conservation-led SuDS initiatives, delivering reliable ecological and visual outcomes in water-sensitive sites.

  • Seedbed Preparation: Prepare a fine, firm seedbed. Remove aggressive or competitive species.
  • Sowing Time: Best sown in spring or autumn when soil is moist.
  • Sowing Rate: Broadcast evenly and lightly roll to ensure good seed-to-soil contact.
  • Establishment: Expect flowering from year one. Full sward diversity develops over 2–3 seasons.
  • Management: Cut lightly once or twice annually depending on objectives. Remove arisings to prevent nutrient build-up.
  • Long-Term Care: Avoid fertilisers and minimise disturbance to maintain SuDS-adapted wildflower diversity.
