Posy Mix 100% Wildflowers (JC4506) is a colourful blend of over 10 annual wildflower species, specifically selected for their suitability as cut flowers and their ability to produce strong, single-stemmed blooms.

Featuring species such as Rudbeckia, Callistephus, Clarkia, Gypsophila, Zinnia, and Helianthus, this mix delivers a long season of vibrant colour from early summer through to autumn. While ideal for cut flower production, Posy Mix also performs well in ornamental beds, borders, and seasonal displays, providing both visual impact and valuable nectar resources for pollinators.

Fast to establish and easy to manage, this annual-only mix is well suited to gardens, community growing projects, cut flower plots, and landscape schemes where repeat flowering and bold colour are key objectives.

  • Seedbed Preparation: Prepare a fine, firm seedbed free from weeds and competing vegetation. Good soil contact is essential for even establishment.
  • Sowing Time: Best sown in spring once the risk of frost has passed and soil temperatures are consistently warm.
  • Sowing Rate: Broadcast evenly or sow in rows if growing specifically for cut flowers. Lightly firm after sowing.
  • Establishment: This annual mix establishes quickly and produces strong, upright stems suitable for cutting throughout the flowering season.
  • Management: Regular cutting encourages continued flowering. Remove spent plants at the end of the season.
  • Long-Term Care: As an annual mix, re-sowing is required each year to maintain displays or cut flower production.

Location overview Best suited to open, sunny locations. Performs well in garden soils, raised beds, and prepared plots where good light and airflow support strong stem development.
Shade tolerance Prefers full sun. Shaded sites may result in weaker stems and reduced flowering.
Soil type Adaptable to most garden soils, including loam and sandy loam, provided drainage is adequate.
Soil fertility Moderate fertility supports strong stem growth. Avoid excessive nitrogen, which may encourage leafy growth at the expense of flowers.
Moisture Requires consistent moisture during establishment. Once established, tolerates moderately dry conditions but benefits from regular watering in prolonged dry periods.
