Loam Soils 100% Wildflowers – JC8003

A native wildflower mix for loam and alluvial soils with neutral to alkaline pH. Ideal for BNG, development, and long-term conservation meadows.

Loam Soils 100% Wildflowers (JC8003) is a native wildflower seed mixture specifically designed for loam and alluvial medium-textured soils with a neutral to alkaline pH. This 100% wildflower mix establishes a species-rich, resilient meadow that provides long-term ecological value, pollinator support, and visual appeal across a wide range of land uses.

The species composition combines robust perennials and selected annuals/biennials, delivering flowering from spring through to autumn. JC8003 is ideal for landscape design, BNG delivery, conservation projects, farmland diversification, and meadow creation.

Once established, this mix produces a vibrant, structurally diverse sward that supports pollinators, farmland birds, and invertebrates, while maintaining low-maintenance ecological function on neutral to slightly alkaline soils. It is particularly suited for field margins, parkland, floodplains, development sites, and low-input grassland creation.

  • Seedbed Preparation: Prepare a fine, firm seedbed and remove perennial weeds before sowing.
  • Sowing Time: Best sown in autumn or spring when soil moisture is consistent.
  • Sowing Rate: Broadcast evenly and lightly roll to ensure good seed-to-soil contact.
  • Establishment: Expect flowering from year one, with full meadow development over 2–3 seasons.
  • Management: Cut once or twice annually depending on objectives. Remove arisings to maintain low fertility and encourage wildflower diversity.
  • Long-Term Care: Avoid fertiliser application and minimise disturbance to maintain botanical richness.
