Green Roof / Coastal Wildflower Plug Plants Mix

Hardy wildflower plugs for green roofs, exposed coastal sites, and dry urban landscapes. Supports pollinators, biodiversity, and provides vibrant seasonal colour.

The Green Roof / Coastal Wildflower Plug Plants Mix is designed for exposed, challenging sites including green roofs, coastal cliffs, and urban developments. This selection of UK native wildflowers thrives in dry, shallow soils and windy, salt-laden conditions, delivering vibrant seasonal colour while supporting pollinators and local biodiversity.

Supplied as 40cc plug plants, this mix establishes quickly, creating instant visual impact and long-term ecological benefits. Ideal for landscape contractors, ecologists, councils, architects, and landowners, it’s perfect for green infrastructure projects, coastal landscaping, and rooftop gardens.

  • Site Preparation: Remove weeds, debris, and aggressive vegetation. Ensure substrate is clean and lightly cultivated.
  • Planting Time: Spring or early autumn for optimal establishment.
  • Planting Density: Space plugs 20–30cm apart depending on desired coverage.
  • Watering: Water well at planting; temporary irrigation may be required in the first few weeks in extreme drought.
  • Maintenance: Once established, minimal care is needed. Occasional trimming encourages fresh growth and maintains flower density.
