Classic Meadow Mix 80/20 Wildflowers – JC4126

A versatile 80/20 grass and wildflower mix for colourful, general-purpose meadows. Ideal for parks, verges, field margins, and biodiversity-friendly landscapes.

Classic Meadow Mix 80/20 Wildflowers (JC4126) is a versatile grass and wildflower seed mixture designed to bring a splash of colour to general-purpose sites. Combining 80% fine grasses with 20% native wildflowers, this mix establishes a durable, visually attractive sward suitable for a wide range of soils and conditions.

The grass component ensures quick cover, soil stabilisation, and easy management, while the wildflowers provide seasonal flowering, ecological value, and support for pollinators and invertebrates. JC4126 is ideal for parks, field margins, estates, roadside verges, schools, and other amenity areas where a low-maintenance, biodiversity-enhancing landscape is required.

This mixture is designed for long-term resilience, offering early establishment, continuous flowering, and low-input management, making it a reliable choice for both urban and rural sites.

  • Seedbed Preparation: Prepare a fine, firm seedbed by removing weeds and reducing competing vegetation.
  • Sowing Time: Best sown in spring or autumn when soil moisture is reliable.
  • Sowing Rate: Broadcast evenly and lightly roll or rake to ensure good seed-to-soil contact.
  • Establishment: Visible flowering from year one; full sward diversity develops over 2–3 seasons.
  • Management: Cut once or twice annually depending on site objectives. Remove arisings to prevent nutrient build-up.
  • Long-Term Care: Avoid fertiliser application and excessive disturbance to maintain species diversity.
