John Chambers Supports ‘Seeds of Hope Scotland’

John Chambers Wildflower Seed supports Seeds of Hope Scotland, donating Cornfield Annuals Mix to brighten the homes of those self-isolating while promoting biodiversity and wildflower enjoyment.

During challenging times, small acts of kindness can make a big difference. John Chambers Wildflower Seed has proudly supported Seeds of Hope Scotland, a newly founded not-for-profit initiative dedicated to delivering wildflower seed packets to households across Scotland, particularly for those self-isolating due to Covid-19. This project combines the joy of gardening with the ecological benefits of wildflowers, creating a positive impact for both people and the environment.

Seeds of Hope Scotland: Bringing Joy Through Wildflowers

The initiative aims to provide up to 10,000 isolated people with a free packet of wildflower seeds. John Chambers supplied the project with its 100% Cornfield Annuals Mix, ideal for ease of planting and producing a vibrant display of colours. Wildflowers are a perfect choice for this purpose—they are simple to grow, support pollinators, and transform even the smallest spaces into patches of natural beauty.

Volunteer groups distributing essential items are also helping deliver these seed packets. Additionally, Seeds of Hope Scotland has launched a crowdfunding campaign to fund the remaining seed required, with a stretch target that could allow up to 400 people to request seeds be posted directly to loved ones in isolation.

Community and Ecological Impact

Georgia Gilbert, Wildflower Manager at John Chambers, comments:

“This is a wonderful project. While so much focus is on self-isolation and social distancing, Seeds of Hope Scotland provides a positive and creative focus. Planting wildflowers supports biodiversity, restores lost wildflower meadows, and brings delight—even in urban spaces.”

Serena, Founder of Seeds of Hope Scotland, adds:

“The support for this project has been incredible. Companies donating seed, printers offering discounted materials, and volunteers distributing packets—together it shows the power of community. The Cornfield Annuals Mix from John Chambers will create a patchwork of colour and beauty for recipients for months to come.”

John Chambers Wildflower Seed’s involvement in Seeds of Hope Scotland highlights the dual benefits of wildflower projects: promoting biodiversity and spreading joy in the community. By supporting initiatives like this, native wildflowers continue to brighten lives and landscapes, even in the most challenging times.
